Services

Presscraft Components Ltd began as a hand-pressing, power-pressing and assembly operation. Following the progression of the business, our services have been significantly developed via the addition of spot & mig welding services, including Brazing, alongside the addition of a computer-controlled wire cutting and stripping service.

‘Can-Do’ Attitude

At Presscraft, we pride ourselves on traditional British ‘can-do’ attitude; therefore, we are always willing, and often able, to undertake the manufacturing needs of all our clients. This is largely due to the vast expertise, knowledge and experience of our team-members.

The variety of custom-made hand-tools, hand machinery, jigs and fixtures on the shopfloor ensure that these expert personnel are well-equipped.

Supply Network

On the rare occasion that we are unable to deliver upon a client’s request, our strong network of sub-contractors & suppliers allows us to sub-contract work when required. These connections vastly diversify our manufacturing capability and ensure that we meet the needs of all our clientele.

Many of the parts we manufacture involve metal raw materials, particularly brass, steel and aluminium. The capability of our on-site equipment allows us to manufacture parts to varying size and complexity.

Hand & Power Pressing

This service forms much of our work and involves the shaping of raw material, usually metal, into specific shapes.

Dependent on the size of the component, the raw material is placed into either a hand or power press. Larger and heavier components are placed into one of our power presses, which operates up to 70 tonnes; smaller components are shaped using the traditional hand presses.

Once the raw material has been precisely shaped, additional modifications are completed as per the clients’ requirements. Modifications include adjustments such as the addition of holes or inlets.

Dependent on the customer, the component is then left in its raw form or finished, via sub-contractors, typically in either a chrome or zinc-plated finish.

Manufacturing Assemblies

Classical car parts are often made up of various components. In some cases, as many as 20/30 components are combined to form one part. Consequently, these components require assembling so that they can form one whole and complete part.

After receiving a manufacturing request from a client, all the necessary components are subsequently manufactured in-house or ordered from one of the reliable suppliers within our network.

Following this, our shop-floor operators will manipulate the individual components, using a variety of unique tools, into one whole part. The unique tools used by the operators are manufactured in-house.

The assembly of these parts is often highly complex due to the number of components involved; therefore, parts are thoroughly quality checked prior to their dispatch to customers.

Spot & Mig Welding, Including Brazing

The production of finished car parts regularly requires the joining together of two separate metal components. Consequently, our manufacturing process offers a specialised welding service.

Specifically, we offer professional mig and spot welders alongside both mig and spot-welding machines. This ensures that we have the capability to finish the manufacturing process for our clients and provide them with a complete aftermarket part.

We also provide a Brazing service. Any brazing requirements that cannot be completed on-site are sub-contracted out to our highly proficient brazing partners.

Typically, the welding services we provide our low in volume and size; however, typically our shop can successfully undertake all of our clients’ requests. In the rare occasion that we are unable to complete a job in-house, the work is sub-contracted to one of our trusted partners.

Computer Controlled Wire Cutting & Stripping

The addition of our computer-controlled wire cutting and stripping service enables us to blend modern and precise technology with effective and traditional methods of manufacture.

Many car parts, such as light fittings, require the use of wiring; therefore, our electronic wire cutting and stripping service plays a pivotal role within the manufacturing process.

The computer-controlled machine is located on the shopfloor and can be programmed to cut and strip reels of wire precisely and quickly.

Following the cutting of the wire, operators are provided with wiring that is ready to be used in the assembly of a particular part. The stripping of the wire ensures that it is ready for the attachment of terminals.

This service allows us to improve the cost-efficiency of manufacture, as wiring is produced swiftly and accurately, enabling our operators to begin with the assembly of the part immediately.
